Ray Clark is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with more than four decades of experience helping individuals, executives, and families navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence. Known for his highly personalized approach and commitment to client service, Ray has built his career around long-term relationships, thoughtful planning, and disciplined investment management.
Ray began his career in 1981 at Paine Webber before joining Drexel Burnham Lambert in Beverly Hills in 1986, one of the premier high-yield bond firms of its era. He later continued developing his financial planning practice at Sutro & Co. in Los Angeles, where he specialized in working with executives from leading aerospace and defense organizations including Lockheed Martin, TRW, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Hughes Aircraft, and NASA. During this period, Ray became known for his exceptional level of personal service, even creating a private transportation service for clients traveling to and from his downtown Los Angeles office.
In 1990, Ray received the prestigious “Broker of the Year” award from Registered Representative, recognizing his accomplishments and leadership within the financial services industry.
In 1993, Ray joined Alex. Brown & Sons, the oldest investment banking firm in the United States and a firm recognized for bringing companies such as Microsoft and Starbucks public. As a Managing Director, Ray led a team of eight professionals focused on retirement and wealth planning for aerospace executives and high-net-worth families. He also worked closely with pre-IPO executives on sophisticated planning strategies involving estate planning, Rule 10b5-1 plans, executive compensation, ESOPs, ESPPs, and other employee benefit programs. In addition, Ray was selected to mentor emerging venture capital-backed companies through a startup incubator in Salt Lake City.
In 2005, Ray founded The Clark Group Asset Management to create an independent advisory firm dedicated to objective advice and fiduciary-based wealth management. Headquartered in Dana Point, the firm serves clients throughout the country with a focus on retirement planning, investment management, and long-term financial stewardship. In 2022, The Clark Group was featured in The Wall Street Journal for moves the firm made within its fixed income allocation strategy during one of the worst years for bonds in U.S. history.
Ray lives in San Clemente, California with his wife, Melissa. He has three grown children he is very proud of, and a granddaughter who is the sunshine of his life. Outside of work, he enjoys working on his tractor in Northeast Washington. He also enjoys training in Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu, traveling, snow skiing, reading, and developing tactical investment strategies.
Eric T. Cedergreen
Eric has been helping families and individuals achieve their financial goals for over 25 years. He started his career in the securities industry in 1992, and spent one year at Bank of America Capital Management. In 1993, he began working at Alex Brown & Sons in Downtown Los Angeles, where he joined The Clark Group. At the end of 2005, he co-founded The Clark Group Asset Management where he is the President and Chief Compliance Officer. He takes great passion managing portfolios for his clients and believes that hard work and focus is what has helped with his success.
Before starting his career, Eric achieved a degree in Economics at UCLA and was on the NCAA swim team. He is a California native, and resides in Carlsbad with his wife, Lori, and their two children, Ryder and Ivy. Eric is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys swimming and coaching his son’s football team in his free time.

Brandon Clark, CFP®, CPWA®, is the Director of Financial Planning at The Clark Group Asset Management, where he works with executives, engineers, business owners, and retirees on comprehensive wealth management and retirement planning. He is passionate about helping clients simplify complex financial decisions, retire with confidence, and preserve wealth for future generations.
Brandon specializes in retirement income planning, tax-efficient investment strategies, Roth conversions, estate planning, concentrated stock strategies, and asset protection. Through The Clark Group's PROFIT Process, he helps High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth families build personalized financial plans aligned with their long-term goals, values, and legacy.
In addition to advising clients, Brandon is the creator and host of the YouTube channel Maximize Your Retirement, where he simplifies retirement, investing, and tax planning for a national audience. In just over a year, the channel has grown to nearly 20,000 subscribers. He is also a regular guest on Charles Schwab's Schwab Network and has contributed to U.S. News & World Report, Financial Planning Magazine, and other media outlets.
Brandon began his career in 2017 at William Morris Endeavor in the Motion Picture Talent Department before transitioning to Merrill Lynch's advisor training program in 2018, where he earned his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. He later joined The Clark Group to focus on delivering independent, fiduciary financial advice.
He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designation, completed through the Yale School of Management executive education program. Brandon earned his B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Business from the University of California San Diego, where he attended on an NCAA tennis scholarship.
Brandon lives in Orange County with his wife, Zailey, and their daughter, Bobbi. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis, reading, concerts, volunteering with KidWorks, and serving the Dana Point community.
